New appointments
Headjam has added to its team of marketing and branding experts with the appointment of Katrina Locandro as an Account Manager. Hailing from Melbourne, Ms Locandro’s “professional birthplace” was San Francisco’s Silicon Valley undertaking a rare internship at innovative tech startup BrightIdea. Time spent at BrightIdea ensured a great foundation of practical skills and strategic approach when she launched into her marketing career working with brands such as Sorbent, Deloitte, and most recently OneSteel.
Sydney-based Reitsma Constructions has opened an office in Newcastle and appointed local Project Manager, Jamie Gavin. Jamie is well-experienced, having worked in the commercial construction industry throughout Newcastle, Sydney and regional NSW for 13 years. He will oversee the establishment of the new office and brings with him an understanding of the logistics of doing business in Newcastle, with particular focus on education, aged care and an opportunity to work with Reitsma’s existing clients throughout NSW.
Lucas Roston has joined Nova Systems as a Senior Operational Systems Consultant. With over 15 years of experience in the aviation industry, Lucas will be working within Nova Systems Surveillance Program, helping customers solve complex test and evaluation problems in order to realise their capabilities full potential.
James Davidson is the new General Manager Hospitality for The Greenhouse, Pacific Dunes. With over 30 years’ experience (starting in the kitchen) in fine dining and prestigious event catering, James was keen to join his children and grandchildren in a friendly part of the world which makes great wine, has fabulous culinary ingredients and brews good beer.
The University of Newcastle (UON) has announced Professor Steve Larkin, a member of Kungarany and Yanyula Nations and one of Australia’s foremost Indigenous academic leaders, will join the University as the first Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Education and Research. In the new executive leadership role, Professor Larkin will take responsibility for embedding and championing Indigenous education and research throughout the University, and for overseeing the work of UON’s flagship Wollotuka Institute.
LINK has welcomed business broker Matthew Grech to the Newcastle team. Matthew brings over 15 years of experience in business development and managing corporate sales teams in Australia and internationally. He is also a serial entrepreneur, having owned and operated businesses as diverse as student housing in London, a kitchen & bathroom business in Western Sydney, a café on the Central Coast and even a specialist recruitment agency in Sydney.
