Major storage facility planned for HEZ
The Toll Group is planning to build an ammonium nitrate storage facility at the Hunter Economic Zone. With a total estimated value upon completion of $100 million, the proposed facility would include four large warehouses, each in excess of 10,500 sqm.
The custom designed, purpose built storage facility would be built to international standards and build on Toll’s experience of storing ammonium nitrate in the Hunter for over 35 years with no incidents. It is estimated the project would create over 1000 direct and indirect jobs during construction, and 350 full time equivalent direct and indirect jobs upon comple-tion. If the facility is built it will require ancillary services to be built, including further workshops , service centres , truck washes etc.
