Airport on funding shortlist
Newcastle Airport has been shortlisted for funding by the Restart NSW Regional Tourism Infrastructure Program. The NSW government has committed $95 million to regional airports through the Program and Newcastle is one of 24 airports making the shortlist.
Newcastle aims to utilise the funds for the office fit-out of the international passenger processing areas for border agencies and the construction of a new aircraft parking apron (tarmac).
