Renew Newcastle Project Applications Now Open
Renew Newcastle is calling for proposals for projects to take place in otherwise empty spaces in Newcastle CBD.
Deadline for applications is 9am, Monday 1 June 2015.
Renew Newcastle has opportunities specifically for:
- Retail spaces for people who sell things they make
- Closed studio spaces for clean, dry, quiet fine arts and digital arts practice
- Office spaces for desk-based creatives, particularly writers, but also architects, graphic designers, photographers and IT developers
WHAT TYPES OF SPACES ARE AVAILABLE?
Renew Newcastle has access to properties that can be open to the general public, as in the case for retail and gallery spaces, or closed to the general public as is often (but not always) the case for studio and office spaces. Generally, there are four types of spaces available:
-
Retail spaces for people who sell things they make
-
Gallery spaces for exhibitions
-
Studio spaces for clean, dry, quiet fine arts and digital arts practice and low-impact, small-scale product making and selling
-
Office spaces for digital and desk-based creatives such as writers, architects, graphic designers, photographers and IT developers
Often gallery and retail spaces also act as a studio space.
